Bateleur

A very well known and loved bird which can be noticed flying far away by the telltale wingtips which point upwards.
They are large birds with easily identifiable colours but the immature is an overall brown and a bluish face.

They eat mostly small mammals, reptiles and fish but are known to eat nestling birds and carrion as well.
The area in which they are found is restricted to the very northern, bushveld regions.
